Meet 2025 Generation-to-Generation Honoree
Khalid Cannon ‘17

Khalid is the President and Chief Program Officer of Put Me In!, a national nonprofit expanding access to youth sports for children of incarcerated parents. A Gadsden, Alabama native, Khalid graduated from Yale with degrees in chemistry and geology, where he was a three-year football starter.

Dr. Mariko Silver ‘99

Mariko brings transformative leadership to cultural accessibility through her pioneering work as Lincoln Center’s twelfth president, championing the arts as a unifying force while building on her distinguished tenure leading the Henry Luce Foundation and Bennington College. A Yale alumna with advanced degrees from the University of Sussex and UCLA, Dr. Silver exemplifies visionary nonprofit leadership that bridges arts, education, and philanthropy to cultivate creativity and foster community engagement across diverse populations.

Jonathan Fanton ’65, ’77 M.Phil., ’78 Ph.D.

Jonathan is President Emeritus of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences, former President of the MacArthur Foundation, and former President of The New School for Social Research. He has dedicated his career to advancing knowledge, supporting vulnerable communities, and promoting institutional excellence.
